Bayern Munich waste no time in getting off to a flying start with their 2020-21 Bundesliga campaign, scoring three first-half goals in the process from Serge Gnabry, Leon Goretzka and a penalty from Robert Lewandowski. Lewandowski has now scored 18 goals in 21 Bundesliga games vs. Schalke, netting in each of his last 11 meetings in the process. It was one way traffic for a majority of the match for Hansi Flick’s men against David Wagner’s, who were without USMNT’s Weston McKennie (on loan at Juventus). Bayern opened up the floodgates in the second half as Gnabry completed his hat trick, Thomas Muller got on the end of Lewandowski’s Rabona cross, Leroy Sane scored his first goal in a Bayern kit and Jamal Musiala also got in on the action to complete the 8-0 win.
